Science and Technology

Ebola!

Science and technology has been taught in African universities and colleges since colonial times. Today African countries depend heavily on foreign aid and imported medical and technological products. Cures for deadly diseases such as ebola  are searched elsewhere. Mother Africa seems to have relinquished her responsibilities to other nations. Is she having serious shortages of knowledgeable people in the field of science and technology, or is someone responsible? Majority of people would conclude, 'not necessarily'.

In fact, hundreds, if not thousands, African science Philosophical Doctors and Professors are currently teaching the subject across several universities. Thousands of science and technology graduates are also completing their studies each year. But why isn't Africa leading, or in parity with other developing nations in these sectors? Are the governments' lack of funding for research to blame, or are the professors and Doctors not preparing the students well enough?
